Matrix Fan Coil Units
Matrix is Ability’s innovative fan coil technology, developed to provide precise control of airflow while simplifying installation and commissioning. Multiple independently driven fans and a compartmentalised discharge plenum allow airflow to individual grilles to be controlled without conventional volume control dampers, creating a more streamlined approach to fan coil system design.
How Matrix works
Matrix combines multiple independently controlled fans with dedicated sections within the discharge plenum. Each fan is paired with an individual duct and grille, allowing the required airflow to be achieved by adjusting fan speed rather than using volume control dampers. This provides more direct control over air distribution and creates a simpler route to achieving the required airflow during setup and commissioning.

Prove performance before installation
Ability can recreate relevant elements of a proposed Matrix installation at its testing facility in Poole, using project drawings to replicate ductwork layouts, grille positions and other system elements. This allows the selected Matrix FCU and wider arrangement to be evaluated before installation and commissioning.
